Step 1:
Choose a Method for Submitting Your Film

A. Send us a link to download your film

Do you have a place where we can download your film such as an ftp site? Does your epic movie exist in the cloud just waiting to be discovered? Let us know where we can find it and be sure to include credentials if needed.

B. Upload your film to YouTube or Vimeo

We don’t want budding Kubrick’s doing more work than what’s needed – especially when it’s not actually making a film. If you’ve posted your film on a video-hosting website, send us a link and we’ll sit back with a nice cuppa and watch your genius unfold on the screen. If you’re selected for a festival we’ll get in touch to secure a production-ready copy.

C. Upload your film to our servers

On the road and unable to fuss with the two previous options? Do you love uploading stuff? Well, we’ve made it easy for you! Find a nice hotel, connect to their free (and fast) internet and follow this link to upload your file directly to us. Please make sure it’s named exactly as what was declared on the previous form (so we know it’s yours!), and that it’s less than 4 GB in size. Ideally, a 9 minute movie should be no bigger than 1 GB.

THE RULES (we hate making rules but hey, we have to identify some stuff so that it's a family event).

By submitting your film for consideration you are agreeing to the rules and terms of the 9 Minute Moto Film Festival™ (9MMFF) and the 9 Minute Moto Film Festival at Horizons Unlimited Travellers Meetings (9MMFF HU)

DURATION: All entries must be no longer than 9 minutes in running time.

CONTENT: Please be advised that nudity, foul language, racism, and derogatory comments will not be tolerated. We want our kids to enjoy this festival too! Please ensure that your movie isn't a "slideshow" either. We will only consider movies that have a still-shot content of 25% or less in the overall submission (2 minutes 15 seconds).

MULTIPLE ENTRIES: You can submit more than one entry into this festival. Each submission will require its own entry form.

ELIGIBILITY: Films that have been previously screened publicly in theatres, aired on television, or are available online for viewing in their entirety (as part of a distribution plan, including publicly accessible YouTube and Vimeo links) prior to or during the HU meeting are NOT eligible to screen. This does not include screenings at other film festivals prior to the 9MMFF and the 9MMFF HU.

EXHIBITION FORMATS: All Films must be available for 9MMFF and the 9MMFF HU exhibition in digital format.

ROUGH CUTS: Rough cuts are accepted for entry....but really? We're only talking 9 minutes here folks. Please indicate if your movie is an unfinished project so that the audience can understand.

PRESENTATION: Please ensure that your film and presentation refrain from the following:- brand-bashing, derogitory references of culture/lifestyle/religion and outright self-promotion. We'll leave that task to the politicians in this world!

MARKETING: Your entry authorizes the 9 Minute Moto Film Festival and Horizons Unlimited to use clips of your film for marketing and promotional purposes on television, online, in advertising, news and/or other media. In other words, we want to show your work off!

ADDITIONAL TERMS OF ENTRY: Entry confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry into the festival and to use ALL music, images, and content in the entry. This means that when you submit your film, you are guaranteeing that you have the permission to submit. And, by submitting, you guarantee that all of the music and image rights have been secured. Please don't take advantage of other artists' work without giving them credit and securing permission from them.

LOSS AND DAMAGES: The 9 Minute Moto Film Festival and the 9 Minute Moto Film Festival at Horizons Unlimited Travellers Meetings will take all possible care in the handling of entries. We cannot be responsible for damage or loss to films or files while in our possession or in transit. We had to say this but in reality, we'll do our very best to make sure your work is cared for.
